I had exactly the same problem and got it fixed by the Bosch repair service today. The culprit is that in certain areas there may be algae in the air that thrive to grow in the main water reservoir and clog up the water pump that fills the condensation compartment. (note: There are two water tanks in the Ecologixx 7 - one user serviceable condenser tank up top and the non-user serviceable main water reservoir sealed inside the machine) This is main water reservoir is located sealed under the water pump under the tumble dryer drum. Dismantling instructions: 1. Remove the top of the tumble dryer first (two screws at the back 2.
Remove the right side panel with another few screws (looking from the front) 3. Disengage the multi-tooth elastic band by twisting the spring loaded roller at the bottom). After this you have access to the water pump and the Styrofoam float that triggers the empty condenser tank warning. If the pump is entirely clogged you might need to replace it and the float. Then clean the bottom water reservoir from the algae infested water with a pump+hose and a bottle washing brush and circulate clean water through the machine (re-engage the elastic band before running the engine) with the Warm-program. To kill the algae you need to run about 250ml of clear raw vinegar through the pump system by running the machine in the Warm program for 10min and then rinse the excess vinegar out by putting about half a condenser tank of warm water into the machine and running the Warm-programme for 30min. (this will release the clean water into the condenser unit for the self-cleaning function and then pump it back up into the condenser water tank and dilute and circulate the raw vinegar out of the machine).
You should also do a vinegar sanitization run before all extended periods of disuse of the machine by pouring 250ml of vinegar into the large round hole under the top condenser tank (this is where the condensed water is poured for the self-cleaning run). Run the Warm-program without the condenser tank in place until you can verify visually that the pump is circulating the vinegar through the hose in the top left back corner of the condenser tank opening (there is a overflow drain at the back so everything coming up goes promptly back down into the main reservoir (small hole in the back corner bottom). Then place the condenser water tank half full with hot water (not boiling) and let the Warm-programme run for 30min to dilute and circulate the vinegar-water solution out of the machine back into the condenser reservoir. I had exactly the same problem with respect to the compartment full indicator on the same model but the Australian version (WTW84560AU). The problem was not algae, but actually the pump spindle being clogged with lint and hairs that had built up inside the pump chamber. This meant the spindle couldn't turn, tank couldn't drain, thus the machine thinking it was full. To clarify the previous instructions add the following steps after step 3.
Once the rubber belt is disengaged from the motor, the motor will drop down exposing an area directly behind the belt location on the floor of the dryer. This is where a small tank is located. (it is not quite obvious that it is a tank, especially if there is a build up of diust over it.) 4. There are two set of wires going into the top of the pump (1 red, 1 pink).
Disconnect the wires via unclipping the phoenix connector blocks. Disconnect the black hose going into the back of the tank. Unscrew the two torx that secure the lid of the tank.
Remove the tank lid from the top of the tank. There are two holes inside the main shaft of the pump and inside this you can see if there is any buildup of lint or hairs. I used some bottle nose pliers to pull out this gunk that had wrapped around the spindle.
Unclip the white plastic end of the pump assembly to make sure that there is nothing blocking the impeleller mechanism. 10, Rinse out the pump assembly section being carefull not to get any part of the motor wet. Check that the rubber drainage hose is not blocked.
Remove the black styrofoam float from within the tank chamber. Check the tank chamber for any more lint etc. (I also found a big section of lint here that would have built up and affected the function of the pump). Reassemble the pump, put the float back in, Replace lid of tank.
Reconnect hose. Replace screws.
Reconnect phoenix connectors for each set of wires. Reconnect rubber belt to motor. Reassemble rest of machine.
Follow other steps for algae removal if necessary. This fixed the problem for me. Hope these extra steps helps clarify how to remove and clean out the pump. Thanks a lot! This detailed description was very helpful for me when disassembling the water pump. I found everything exactly as described, including hairs around the shaft of the pump and a large amount of lint/slime on the bottom of the tank.
The machine works just fine now. Thanks a lot! I have this machine, and have had the repair man out four times to this fault, so this time I tried something my self, it resolved the issue and the dry has now been operating for a month with no return of the problem.
My solution requires no disassembly. The problem is a coating of slime on the tank in the bottom of the machine. This causes the machine to think the tank is always full so cuts the machine out with the icon telling you to empty the condensate container. For a fix, you have to fully remove the slime or it will just build up again.
The way I did this is to fill the condensate tank with water and pour it into a measuring jug and see how much it holds. Next boil a kettle of water and fully dissolve a dishwasher tablet in a jug or container with the same amount of water that the tank holds. Next, pour the water (use a funnel or pipe) into the compartment where the condensate tank slides into, it should run down into the tank at the bottom of the machine. Leave it for an hour, then put the condensate container into it's slot on the machine and start the machine. The water should pump up into the container, probably with a load of fluff.
Hopefully the machine will now work properly. Posted on Feb 16, 2015. I'd recommend this procedure as part of the usual maintenance routine for the EcLogixx 7, for example once every year. That should avoid the lint to build up and clog the system. Dishwasher powder is probably at least as efficient as vinegar, and smell so much better. Consequently, when using dishwasher you don't need to rinse With Clear water afterwards.

Many thanks Trevor1964 for this tip. This worked fine for my EcoLogixx7 and helped to make it 'alive' again, but caused some additional problems too.
I dissolved the whole dishwater tablet as described above which made really great job after one hour. But caused to produce an enormous amount of foam inside the bottom water reservoir too. And this caused to flash an info again that condensation compartment is full, again and again and again. I was not keen to unsrew my tumble dryer afresh, hence, I started to pour a lot of clean water (approx. 2 l each time) to the compartment where the condensate tank slides into.
And, after 7 times/pourings, my EcoLogixx7 stopped to flash: condensation compartment is full, the foam was finally removed. Now it works perfect:) Many thanks Trevor1964 for this tip. This worked fine for my EcoLogixx7 and helped to make it 'alive' again, but caused some additional problems too.

Now it works perfect:). Sounds like the thermal safety overload is cutting the power due to overheating hence why it just turns back on after a certain time, when the safety overload reaches a certain temperature it will cut the power to the machine or in some cases just the heating elements, once it cools down it resets and power is restored and by using the warm setting it obviously isn't as hot so its not overheating, its highly likely it is all blocked up internally with lint (i know it says self cleaning but they never work for more than a few years before requiring a proper clean and service) Jan 30, 2017. First, disconnect from the mains - VERY important! Pull out the metal condenser unit at the bottom, and behind it, there's a small hatch in the bottom to the reservoir. This can get gunked up with water, and is very difficult to clean - HOWEVER - I've found a really easy way of cleaning it. I've got a VAX carpet washer with a hose attachment, and I simply sucked all the water out using that. If you don't own a carpet cleaner maybe borrow one. I did this this morning, and my tumble-dryer's still running happily after an hour!
It is possible to clean it out without vacuum, but it takes a LOT longer, and the vacuum of the cleaner pulls out gunk that is hard to access. Another place where gunk collects is behind that hatch right at the back - there's a tube up to the right. I pulled out quite a long chunk of lint. However, that wasn't the solution on it's own, I still had to clean out the reservoir as above. Jul 03, 2008.
